This measurement is used to adjust the length of the bead chain or cord so that it complies with child safety requirements. The chain or cord must end at least 150 cm above the floor. Please note: this is the installation height, not the height of the blind. If you select “Unknown”, the product will be supplied with a standard chain or cord drop of 100 cm.

How to measure

Multifix is mounted directly on the window sash. For clamp brackets, the sash should be a maximum of 2 cm deep. If it is deeper and made of wood, you can use the metal brackets provided, which are nailed into the top edge, regardless of depth.

When you measure the width, the handle must be taken into account so that the fabric fits inside. The measurement you enter is the total width of the roller blind, including brackets. The fabric width is approx. 3.1 cm less than the overall dimensions.

Installation height & child safety

Installation height
Installation height is the distance from the floor up to the point where the blind is mounted. On made-to-measure blinds with a cord or beaded chain, the installation height is used to adjust the length of the operation so that it ends up at a child-safe distance (150 cm above the floor).

Read more in our guide to child safety.

Child safety
Roller blinds, Roman blinds and other blinds that are adjusted with a chain or cord can pose a risk if they are within reach of small children. For your peace of mind, the roller blind is supplied with a safety device for the beaded chain. It helps to keep the chain out of reach of small children. We recommend that you always install the safety device according to the enclosed instructions for a safe home environment.
