1. Double or Single Curtains?

Whether you prefer single or double-layered curtains, hotel style is synonymous with an abundance of fabric in both width and height.

What often comes to mind when we think of hotel curtains is the combination of two layers. In luxuriously decorated hotel rooms, it’s common to have both a sheer curtain that lets in daylight while providing privacy, and a thicker, often blackout curtain as the outer layer. This gives you flexibility, allowing you to control how much light enters the room.

You can also choose single-layer curtains that stretch from wall to wall, achieving a luxurious feel without the need for two different types of curtains.

2. Choose Fabric for Both Style and Function!

You can create the hotel look with almost any type of curtain. If you opt for double-layered curtains, the outer layer doesn’t necessarily need to be blackout if you don’t require it. Instead, you can go for something like a decorative linen curtain or a cozy velvet option.

If you’re covering a wider window area with a single type of fabric, sheer curtains are often a great choice, as they let in daylight even when drawn. Sheer curtains come in a variety of materials, with or without texture, depending on your preference. White curtains are still a popular choice for sheer options, followed closely by light, natural tones. However, we’re seeing a rising trend where more and more people are daring to add bolder colors to their décor.

3. Curtain Rails for Floor-to-Ceiling Drapes

When we think of hotel curtains, it’s often the floor-to-ceiling style that comes to mind. For this reason, a curtain rail is often the best choice when bringing the hotel feel into your home. A curtain rail also makes it easy to draw the curtains back and forth, thanks to the gliders on the track.

Curtain rails come in various designs, depending on the style and function you desire. Our double-track hotel rail is a popular choice for double-layer curtains, while the discreet U-rail works well with thinner, single-layer curtains. A common theme in the hotel style is the desire to conceal as much of the rail as possible. This can be achieved by choosing a discreet rail or using curtain hooks that cover most of the rail. You can read more about how to achieve the hotel look with curtain rails here.

4. Get the Right Measurements for Your Windows

Hasta’s curtains are available in single width (132 cm) or double width (268 cm). When it comes to creating the hotel look, double width is the most popular choice, as the hotel style is often associated with abundant fabric!

Most of our curtains can be custom-ordered to match your exact ceiling or window height. The curtain will then be delivered ready to hang, with a neatly finished 10 cm hem. You can also order standard-length curtains in 250 cm or 280 cm, which come unhemmed, allowing you to either hang them as they are or hem them to your desired length.

To get the perfect measurements, it’s important to measure correctly and consider which rail and curtain hooks you will use. You can read more about how to measure for curtains here.

Extra Tip for the Perfect Wave Curtain!

To get perfect waves on your wave curtains, you can use corded gliders. This ensures the gliders are evenly spaced when you pull the curtain, so each wave is exactly the same size. You’ll never need to adjust the waves when drawing the curtains – they’ll be perfect every time!
