On a hill with a beautiful view of greenery and water, we find Therese’s dreamy home, which she shares with her husband and two children. Their villa in Stockholm serves as an oasis, where the inspiring view is reflected in the interior, featuring natural materials and earthy, light tones.

Beige tones form the base of the home, with details that are varied and swapped out according to the season. Therese, who works as a PR & Communications Manager, explains her choice with a desire to create a timeless home with shades that harmonize and create a cohesive feel.

‘I love tone-on-tone and maintaining a kind of common thread. Throughout the house, we’ve worked with the same natural stone, one NCS color, and black details.’

Therese describes her home as bright and airy, which is reflected in her choice of sheer curtains in many of the rooms. The curtain choices integrate the natural light as part of the decor, and the lovely view isn’t blocked by heavy fabric layers.

‘The best part of our home is how the boundary between the outside and inside has blurred thanks to our large floor-to-ceiling glass panels. Since we live on a hill, we also have no view of anything but the tops of oak trees.

Therese, who loves to travel, uses wave curtain hanging and ceiling rails to create a luxurious hotel feel. Her inspiration comes from the family’s travels around the world, where impressions from hotels, restaurants, and gardens are reflected in her own interior design.

For blackout solutions, Therese has opted for alternative sun protection that easily combines with decorative window treatments. In the bedroom, sheer curtains with a beautiful linen feel hang alongside blackout vertical blinds in the same shade, which can be easily opened and closed as needed.

The well-thought-out cohesion that defines Therese’s home is also evident in the children’s rooms, where custom-made bed skirts are combined with decorative Roman shades in the same fabric and shade. Here too, the beige tone is used as a neutral base, while the colorful playfulness in the children’s spaces is created by details that can easily be swapped out as desired and needed.
